A warm welcome, Semina!
To call Semina Rekic a “new” Salzburg resident would be not quite right, as she has been living and working in the Mozart City since 1993 and it has become her new home.
However, Semina did not plan it like that. She had to leave her home in Bosnia because of the war. That’s when she found safety with her family who had been living in Salzburg for a long time. For Semina, the beginning in Salzburg was quite difficult and she swore that one day she would return to Bosnia. But it did not work out that way!
AND TODAY?
Today, she works as a Kindergarten Teacher in Salzburg and does not regret her decision to stay here one bit. We asked her what she likes most about Salzburg, if she is confronted with prejudice towards migrants and what tips she has for new Salzburg residents.
