Games, fun and finding friends – all this in a lovely environment. Proper childcare is important for all parents. There are many possibilities in the City of Salzburg, where your offspring are well looked after.
There are places which are run by the city and other places which are run by private organisations. Childcare isn’t free in Salzburg, but school attendance does not cost anything.

At the latest, all children must attend nursery school one year before they go to school. The children must attend nursery school or a playgroup at least 16 hours on 4 working days per week. 20 hours care per week are free for the kids, more hours must be paid.
The application for the child must be personally made with the child directly at the desired nursery school. Applications mostly take place at the beginning of the year (January or February), in preparation for the following autumn.
